James Chapman is an active professional drummer from the UK working as both a studio and live session musician, and in 2015, became the drummer for the Metal band “Collapse”.
After picking up the drumsticks for the first time at age 13, James became immediately obsessed with the instrument. After leaving school he went on to study at Drumtech in London – one of Europe’s leading contemporary music schools. Since then James had recorded in some of the countries top recording studios and played with multi-platinum selling artists.
Although known for his power and drive within the more aggressive styles of music, his versatility and musicianship has seen him recording and touring with artists from a huge variety of styles and genres.
James as an individual performer has demonstrated his unique drumming skills in drum workshops, seminars and masterclasses in UK and at many international music trade shows.
In addition to James’ performance work, he is also known as a teacher, producer and composer.
Based just outside of London, James started working professionally after studying ay Drumtech music school. Since then James has performed all over the world, recorded in some of Europe’s best recording studios and been invited to play at some of the worlds most prestigious drum festivals along with drummers such as Simon Phillips, Steve Ferrone, Tony Royster Jr, Ralph Peterson, Andre Ceccerelli, Larnell Lewis, Thomas Pridgen and many more.
Although a versatile drummer in many genres, James is primarily known for his work in Rock and Metal styles where his power and intensity shine through.
James is currently playing with multi platinum selling artist Tommy Vext (ex Bad Wolves, Devine Heresy, Westfield Massacre).
